BCFS’ global division, Children's Emergency Relief International (CERI), provides humanitarian aid to impoverished children and families in South Asia, Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.
CERI operates a multifaceted portfolio of programs aimed at protecting vulnerable children from predators, while empowering them, their families and their communities toward prosperity through independence. The division operates and supports foster care, transitional living, anti-trafficking, and trauma and loss recovery programs. It also leads mission trips that meet medical and dental needs of indigenous populations; distribute food, clothing, and medical supplies to impoverished communities; build homes for the homeless; create sustainable agricultural systems; spur economic development in struggling communities; and offer spiritual guidance and support for children and families in need around the world.
BCFS’ overseas division has routinely been tapped by governments for emergency response and recovery after natural disasters, as well as counseling and policy advising that makes a profound difference in the social structure of foreign countries.
